Get The Look: New York Fashion Week + Nanette Lepore

Now that NYFW has come and gone, we wanted bring some of our favorite looks from the SPRING 15 Runway to your day-to-day life. We teamed up with Makeup Artist, Michelle Hodnett to give us all of her tips and tricks.

Our first look is Nanette Lepore.

Nanette’s look has been described as that sun-kissed beauty whom in one swift wardrobe change can go from day, to night.

Key Product:

Lime Crime Uniliner in White

Prep:

1. Make sure your skin is moisturized before applying any makeup. This will help to use less product and avoid “cakey” looking skin. For a longer lasting look, apply a primer after moisturizing. Smashbox Photo Finish is always a solid go-to.

Tip: Don’t forget to prep your lips as well! Throw on a good lip balm for a soak while you apply the rest of your makeup. This way when you’re ready for some lipstick, you wont have to deal with dry and cracked lips.

Skin:

2. Apply a foundation with generous coverage and work your way from the middle of the face blending outward. This way you get coverage where it’s necessary without it looking like you’re wearing a mask. Then take your concealer and lightly add where needed.

3. Set your foundation with a translucent setting powder.  Gently apply the bronzer to the underside of your cheekbones in a soft, upward and outward motion.

Eyes:

4. Sweep a champagne eye shadow across your entire lid.

Tip: Doing so pops the eyes and helps to give a more “ethereal look”.

5. Line under your bottom lashes with a white eyeliner pencil. Take LIME CRIME’S Uniliner in White to your upper lid’s lash line to create a winged tip and a more defined line.

6. Use some white eyeshadow an angle brush to soften the edges.

Tip: A slightly imperfect line and less sharp wing softens the look.

7. To finish off the eyes, apply a couple layers of your favorite mascara to your top lashes and a light sweep to your bottom lashes.

Lips:

8. Use a cotton candy pink (MAC Snob is perfect) lip color here and set it with a translucent powder for a matte finish.

Tip: Try applying your lip color with a lip brush then soften the edges with the tip of a sponge.
